Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) has announced the appointment of Martyn Pritchard to the post of Chief Executive, with immediate effect.

Martyn Pritchard

Martyn comes to YAS from the Department of Health where he was Head of Choice Policy.  A former Chief Executive of the Calderdale Primary Care Trust where he worked from 2002 until 2006, Martyn’s previous roles during the last ten years have included Chief Executive of the Calderdale Primary Care Group and Senior Commissioning Manager of the former Calderdale and Kirklees Health Authority.

Martyn brings a wealth of experience from his 16 years in the NHS and from working with key partners and stakeholders to modernise services and drive forward improvements in the way healthcare is provided to patients.

He joins YAS following the recent departure of Mrs Jayne Barnes CBE, who has emigrated to Australia to take up the post of Assistant Commissioner of Queensland Ambulance Service (South East region).
