Non-Executive Director (Designate)
A non-executive director designate will make a full contribution to the board’s debates and discussions but will have no voting rights until this post is confirmed on authorisation of the organisation becoming a Foundation Trust.
The Trust is looking for an individual with significant or senior level experience in one of more of the following areas:
- Current or recent experience at executive level management/leadership in the voluntary sector.
- Extensive experience of working with volunteers and/or service user representatives.

Della Cannings (pictured), Chairman of the Trust, said: “Our non-executive directors oversee the delivery of ambulance services for the local community and help to ensure the best use of financial resources to maximise benefits for patients. They also contribute to plans to improve and develop services.
“We have a high regard for the work carried out by our non-executive directors and their valuable contribution helps to ensure we provide the best quality ambulance service to meet the needs of local people.”
Non-executive directors are expected to spend 2½ days a month working for the Trust and receive £6,096 remuneration per year.

They are lay people drawn from the community served by the Trust.
The other Yorkshire Ambulance Service non-executive directors are Roger Holmes CB, Richard Roxburgh, Pat Drake, Elaine Bond, Erfana Mahmood and Mary Wareing (Designate). The Chairman is Ms Della Cannings QPM.
