Public Invited to Ambulance Service Presentation

20 November 2012

Residents in Yorkshire are being offered the opportunity to hear about the valuable contribution their ambulance service made to ensuring the millions of spectators who attended the London 2012 Olympic Games this summer were safe.

In a pre-Trust Board presentation, members of the public will hear from Steve Rendi, Yorkshire Ambulance Service's Head of Emergency Operations in South Yorkshire, who led the team of 28 staff from the Trust seconded to London to cover the events in the Capital.

Steve will relay the experiences of the Trust's frontline clinicians and staff from emergency operations centres and support services as they provided emergency assistance during Olympic and Paralympic events at venues including the Velodrome, Aquatics Centre and Olympic Stadium.

The presentation will take place, between 09.00 and 09.30, ahead of the organisation's Trust Board meeting being held in public on Tuesday 27 November 2012 at the Cairn Hotel on Ripon Road in Harrogate. The main Trust Board meeting will commence at 09.45.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to find out more about the Trust's aspiration to become an NHS foundation trust and can apply to become a member at the meeting.

Anyone wishing to attend should register your interest by emailing corp-comms@yas.nhs.uk or telephoning 01924 584035.
