Public Invited to Ambulance Service Presentation

Members of the public are being given the opportunity to find out about a pilot Rapid Arrest Team initiative and related clinical improvements at the region’s ambulance service.

In a pre-Trust Board meeting presentation, Associate Clinical Director Jacqui Crossley, Clinical Development Manager Andrew Pippin and Clinical Supervisor Rachel Simpson will provide an overview about the staff-led initiative at Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust that focused on sending an additional senior clinician to support the ambulance team where patients were in cardiac arrest. The overarching aims of the Hull-based pilot were to improve the outcomes of patients and provide additional support to those involved in out-of-hospital cardiac arrests.

The presentation will discuss the findings of the three-week study, highlighting the feasibility and benefits of sending an additional senior clinician to these patients.

The presentation will take place, between 09.00 and 09.30, ahead of the next Trust Board meeting being held in public on Tuesday 21 May 2013 at the Eureka Children’s Museum, Discovery Road, Halifax, West Yorkshire, HX1 2NE. The main Trust Board meeting will begin at 09.45.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to find out more about the Trust’s aspiration to become an NHS foundation trust and can apply to become a member.
