Public Invited to Ambulance Service Event

18 March 2015

Yorkshire Ambulance Service Trust Board Meeting Held in Public and presentation on Embrace Children’s Transport Service on Tuesday 24 March 2015

Members of the public are invited to a Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust presentation focusing on the work of the Embrace Children’s Transport Service, as well as being given the opportunity to find out more about the wider work of the Trust.

The presentation on Embrace, a highly specialist, round-the-clock transport service for critically-ill infants and children in Yorkshire and the Humber who require care in another hospital in the region or further afield, will be given by Dr Stephen Hancock, Consultant Paediatric Lead for Embrace at Sheffield Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Helping around 2,000 patients a year, the service will be discussed before the next Trust Board Meeting Held in Public on Tuesday 24 March 2015 between 10.45am and 11.15am, prior to the Trust Board meeting at The Courtyard, Boothferry Road, Goole DN14 6AE which will start at 11.30am.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service has Trust Board Meetings Held in Public at locations across Yorkshire and the Humber every two months.  These events give members of the local community the opportunity to look behind the scenes at the emergency service, find out about the Trust’s aspiration to become an NHS Foundation Trust and how they can become a member of Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

The meetings also include patient stories and discussions of issues facing the service and are attended by Trust Board members as well as senior management.

Details of all board meetings held in public can be found on the Trust’s website www.yas.nhs.uk

If you would like to attend the meeting please register your interest by emailing foundationtrust@yas.nhs.uk or telephoning 01924 584416.
