Ambulance Service Goes on the Road for
Scarborough Family Fun Days

15 June 2016

Aberdeen Walk in Scarborough will be a blue light zone next week as Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust's (YAS) Summer Roadshow comes to town.

Scarborough residents are invited to come along to the free event which will be running daily from 11.00am to 3.00pm from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 June 2016 on Aberdeen Walk (opposite Thomas the Baker) where the YAS Team will be on hand to offer free first aid training including life-saving cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The event will offer local people the chance to have a look inside a YAS ambulance and to find out more about the Trust's services including what goes on behind the scenes when a 999 call is made.

Free activities for children will be on offer along with information on volunteering or working for the ambulance service and the Trust's Charitable Fund mascot, ParaTed, will also be making a guest appearance.

The event is part of a programme of summer roadshows which will see the Trust visit Scarborough again in early September 2016 as well as events further afield including Bradford, Hull and Sheffield.

Ali Richardson, Foundation Trust Membership Manager, said, "We are really looking forward to the roadshow, which is a fantastic opportunity for people to find out more about Yorkshire Ambulance Service and what we do. Everyone is welcome, whether you want to join in with some of the activities or just stop by for a chat and to pick up some information."

This event is free to attend and no prior booking is required. More information can be found on the Trust's website - www.yas.nhs.uk - or you can follow the action on Twitter or Facebook using the hashtag #YASRoadshow.

The Roadshow follows two informal family fun days held in Scarborough on 13 and 14 June 2016.
