Ambulance Service Goes on the Road for Leeds Briggate Family Fun Day

13 September 2016

Leeds Briggate will become a blue light zone next week as the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust’s (YAS) Summer Roadshow comes to town.

Leeds residents are invited to come along to the free event, running daily from 11.00am to 2.00pm from Monday 19 until Wednesday 21 September 2016 directly outside Debenhams on Briggate where the YAS Team will be on hand to offer free first aid training including life-saving cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The event will provide local people with the chance to have a look inside a YAS ambulance, including the community medical unit and to find out more about the Trust’s services including what goes on behind the scenes when a 999 call is made.

Free activities for children will be on offer along with information on volunteering or working for the ambulance service and the Trust’s Charitable Fund mascot, ParaTed, will also be making a guest appearance.

Ali Richardson, Membership ManagerAli Richardson (pictured left), Membership Manager, said, “We are really looking forward to the roadshow, which is a fantastic opportunity for people to find out more about Yorkshire Ambulance Service and what we do. Everyone is welcome, whether you want to join in with some of the activities or just stop by for a chat and to pick up some information.”

This event is free to attend and no prior booking is required. More information can be found on the Trust’s website – www.yas.nhs.uk – or you can follow the action on Twitter or Facebook using the hashtag #YASRoadshow.
