Tour de YAS

An epic cycling fundraising event is being organised by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service Charitable Funds to celebrate the Tour de France Grand Depart 2014 coming to Yorkshire.

Staff, friends and family are being encouraged to take part in the ‘Tour de YAS’ which aims to raise money for the YAS Charitable Fund, enabling more public access defibrillators to be purchased for sites across the county.

The ‘Tour de YAS’ will begin at Todmorden Ambulance Station on Saturday 14 June 2014, part of Bike Week, and will finish in Hornsea on Friday 20 June 2014.

The route will take in the following workplaces, predominantly ambulance stations:

Saturday 14 June Todmorden, Halifax, Bradford, Dewsbury, Barnsley
Sunday 15 June Barnsley, Wakefield, Leeds, Harrogate
Monday 16 June Harrogate, Ripon, Thirsk, York Fairfields
Tuesday 17 June York Fairfields, Sherburn-in-Elmet, South Kirkby, NHS 111 Wath upon Dearne,
Wednesday 18 June NHS 111 Wath, Rotherham, Doncaster, Selby
Thursday 19 June Selby, Beverley, Hull (Sutton Fields)
Friday 20 June Hull (St James Village Hall) to Hornsea on a traffic-free cycle route

Members of the public wishing to fundraise and participate in the ‘Tour de YAS’, can do so by joining us on the final leg from St James Village Hall, Sutton, Hull to Hornsea Freeport with a start time of 1.00pm. This 12-mile, traffic-free cycle route, will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete and is a great challenge for all ages.

If cycling is not for you, why not join us at Hornsea Freeport between 2.00pm – 4.30pm where there will be displays showing different aspects of Yorkshire Ambulance Service, including our very own Community and Commercial Education Team.

Don’t worry, if you are unable to attend, you can still support us by texting TDYA14 followed by the amount you wish to donate £1, £2, £3, £4, £5, or £10 to 70070.

(Texts will be charged at your standard network message rate, your donation will appear on your mobile telephone statement from your provider, or taken from your credit allowance if on a PAYG tariff)
