Our vision is to provide an ambulance service which is continuously developing and delivering the highest level of patient care and services for our residents across Yorkshire and the Humber, Bassetlaw, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.

Foundation Trust Consultation Clinical

To help us achieve this vision, we have started on a journey to become an NHS Foundation Trust. NHS Foundation Trusts are membership organisations that are free from central government control. This means that we will have a lot more freedom to shape the way that we provide and develop services for our patients.

We have set out some plans for how we would like to take the new organisation forward in the future, and have been consulting with staff and residents alike around these plans.

Get involved

As a Foundation Trust our decisions will be influenced by our ‘Members’, who will be made up of staff, patients and public from across Yorkshire and the Humber, Bassetlaw, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.

Everyone who lives in these areas and is over the age of 16 will be able to become a Member (membership is free). As a Member you will be to help us shape the way that we develop our services in the future and make sure that they really benefit your local community.

Introduction of YAS Forum and update on our Foundation Trust application

Like all other aspirant FT applications, our application has been put on hold until further notice. This is to allow the Care Quality Commission’s quality inspections to take place prior to the final stages of the Monitor (FT regulator) process.

During this period our Trust continues to be committed to Membership engagement and partnership working throughout the communities we serve.

Until such a time that a YAS NHS FT Council of Governors can be elected, we want YAS to continue being proactive and innovative and have chosen to introduce a YAS Forum with elected Public, Staff and Appointed Forum Members.

Read an update on our application and the launch of the YAS Forum.
