This is Ayesha.

Now picture her

self-harming.

It’s a tough job, but you’re the nurse or paramedic to do it.

It’s what you have to be able to do here at Yorkshire Ambulance Service to really help our patients. You have to be able, from the other end of the phone, to visualise the situations our patients are in. Listening to what they tell us, concentrating and imagining what they’re going through, it stretches all your clinical assessment skills to get them the right care and quickly.

One phone call to you can make all the difference. The rewards are knowing that you got your patient the best help for them at that time.

Senior Clinical Advisors

It says a lot about you that you’re here

Just the fact that you made it to our website tells us you care. That’s brilliant. Maybe it’s because you want to broaden your clinical knowledge, develop new transferable skills, re-energise your career or move into Telehealth.

It says that, as a senior clinical advisor for NHS 111 (Integrated Urgent Care) or Emergency Operations Centre (999), you want to take on the responsibility for assessing urgent and emergency care needs. It says that you want to train to use our specialist triage software to support clinical decisions and use your professional clinical judgment. And it says that you’re ready to put your generalist and specialist skills to use to get patients the most appropriate care.

You can be confident that you’re going to find what you’re looking for here. The chance to make a real difference to patients’ lives as you deal with conditions you may never have even come across. Training for new situations with ongoing support. Offering health information and self-care advice so that some patients feel confident to remain at home.

And adding real strength to the service to take the NHS into the future.
