Non-executive Director opportunities at Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust
06 May 2025
The region’s ambulance service is looking to appoint up to two Non-executive Directors (NEDs) in the coming months.
One NED is required to become the next Chair of the Trust’s Quality Committee from December 2025 where the remit includes clinical governance, standards of care, patient safety, and patient experience.
There may also be an opportunity to appoint a second NED from July 2025 and are seeking applicants with knowledge, experience and significant career achievements relating to people issues.
NEDs make a full contribution to the Board’s debates and discussions, bringing independence, external perspectives, skill and challenge to strategy development. This is an exceptional opportunity for the successful candidates to share their talents and expertise to make a positive difference to the lives of colleagues and people served by the Trust.
The Trust is particularly interested in candidates who can bring senior or Board-level professional experience and/or lived experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Patient safety, patient experience, and the effectiveness of care, especially in an urgent and emergency care context.
- Clinical governance.
- Quality improvement.
- Workforce, workplace culture, and organisational development.
Applicants should ideally live or work in Yorkshire, or within reasonable travelling distance of Yorkshire, or have strong connections with the area and its communities.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 13 May 2025 at 11.00am, with interviews provisionally scheduled to take place on Tuesday 17 June 2025.
The other YAS Non-executive Directors are currently Anne Cooper (Deputy Chair), Tim Gilpin (Senior Independent Director), Andrew Chang, Amanda Moat and Saghir Alam OBE and the Associate Non-executive Directors are Tabitha Arulampalam, Katie Lees and Rebecca Randell. The Chair is Martin Havenhand.
