Volunteer With Us

We are extremely proud to be supported by almost 1,000 volunteers who offer their time to support our patients, our staff and our communities.

As a Yorkshire Ambulance Service volunteer, you can expect to be provided with the necessary training, equipment and continuous support from a dedicated team.

You don’t need to have qualifications or previous experience; you just need to be caring, friendly and have some time you’re willing to offer.

Our first Volunteer Development Framework 2023-2026 sets out our commitment to supporting and enhancing volunteering. This is in recognition of the significant benefits volunteering brings to our patients, staff, communities and to volunteers themselves.

We have a range of volunteering activities, with flexibility to fit around you.

Community First Responder (CFR) volunteers

CFRs are trained to attend certain types of emergencies within their local communities, often providing life-saving treatment and support to patients before our ambulance crew arrives.

Critical Friends Network (CFN) volunteers

CFN volunteers have experience of contact with the ambulance service and offer their support, opinions and ideas to influence service developments and improvements.
