Yorkshire Ambulance Service shortlisted for Control Room Awards 2025

30 June 2025

Yorkshire Ambulance Service colleagues have been shortlisted for two prestigious national awards. Our Remote Patient Care Team, which provides clinical triage and advice to patients over the phone when they call NHS 111, has made the final three in the Team of the Year Category, whilst Julia Nixon, Associate Chief Operating Officer for Remote Patient Care, has made the shortlist for the Leader of the Year award. They will find out later this week how they have done.

The Remote Patient Care Team is being recognised for the progress it has made since early 2024 when the Trust’s our Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) teams came together under a combined leadership function. Julia has been nominated for her outstanding leadership and supporting colleagues across these services to make a range of sustained improvements.

The annual Control Room Awards honour the outstanding professionalism, dedication, and compassion of people working behind the scenes in control rooms across the UK and beyond.

Now in their seventh year, the Control Room Awards recognise the unsung heroes in police, fire, ambulance, and coastguard control rooms, as well as other critical control operations, whose actions save lives and support frontline responders every day.

The awards ceremony will take place in Hull on 3 July 2025.
